June 6, 2009

First I want to say that this is all new to me so I really do not know what I am doing but I think I'll get the hang of it. I want to say thanks to Wendi Wood - for kinda getting me interested in starting a blog.

We have had a wonderful time this week with the Wood Family from Pascagoula, MS. We are so thankful for there family and also so thankful that they decided to come here to Palmira to spend time with us and see first hand what God is doing!

I can say this that God is on the move and as usuall the devil is not happy. We have been feeding the children of Coronado this week and having services all week with our special guest speaker Pastor Ben Wood from the Worship Center. But the last few days have been interesting. A young man who plays the drums was in a motorcycle accident and hit another person. Bother are ok but a little shaken up. Then the very next day our worship leader from Coronado was ran over by a bus while riding his bike (only form of transportaion for him). The bus driver ran a red light and is at falt. The parametics who responded said that they do not know how he is alive. And even he said that when he was under the bus he thought to himself, "Im dying" but somehow he made it out from under the bus onto the curb with no broken bones but some pretty bad scrapes and a very sore body.

Then.... yes theres more we were going to start a new bus route because we had a lot of new people who want to be a part of the church in Coronado - so we hired a bus to go get them and on the way that bus hit someone.

We have not had anything like this happen before... its crazy.... so wait theres more...

our worhsip leader (at the main church and leader of all the worship team) his grandmother died last night.

So please pray for us, God is good and His Kingdom is advancing and like Pastor Ben spoke to our leadership last night - with everything we are doing we are pushing back the kingdom of darkeness - and we are so thankful and so excited to know that our God is on the throne and He is faithful, and powerful to complete the work He has started here in Colombia!

  1. Brooke,
This Hill Crusade, is it the same crusade where a remnant of your leaders were birthed from? I believe the devil is threatened! Imagine if out of that service were birthed even more powerhouses?

We will be praying for you... and I love the blog idea! How about "Photo of the Week" and giving a blurb about the picture... Like a picture of David and sharing his story...

I can't wait to read more!

  2. Greetings from Staunton, Virginia. We have become friends with the Woods (or at least I hope they'd call us friends) through the adoption process. We hope to come to Colombia sometime yet this year to pick up a sibling group. We have great respect for the Woods, and have been following their blog for quite some time, especially the past week that they have been with you in Colombia. I look forward to being able to continue to learn more of your mission and work through your blog.

    God bless you,

  3. Hey We are a CHI adoptive family too. Our kids came home from Florencia last December. This is the same city as Wendi and Ben's beautiful babies. We would love to follow along too! The feeding program really touched my heart. Our Colombian kids are 9,7 and 5. They knew a lot of hunger before the ICBF took them in. Much like the kids you are trying to minister too! God Bless you!

  4. I am so glad you started a blog. Our children pray for you and your family every night. This is great that now they can read and see what is going on in Colombia and how to pray more intentionally and specifially for you. It is so awesome to see the amazing work God is doing in Colombia as a result to your obedience to Him.
